We invite everyone to reconnect with the land while learning about Indigenous traditions. Pibòn (Winter) Festival, Winterlude Edition promises authentic Indigenous experiences, family fun for young and old offered daily.

Join us for a Pow Wow at the Canadian Museum of History. Admission is free to the public.

The Spirit Horse Returns

Travel through time with an Indigenous knowledge keeper and the NAC Orchestra to meet the magnificent “small horses of the deep woods,” who were helpers and spirit guides to Anishinaabe and Métis peoples.

​The Spirit Horse Returns combines an all-new rich and tuneful orchestral score, delightful songs, traditional teachings, and stunning colourful visual art. It provides young audiences with an inspiring and age-appropriate explorations of truth and reconciliation.

Taste some traditional winter favourites like bannock, corn soup, bison and more while you enjoy a traditional performance of Pow Wow dance.

Create your own woodland style painting with our visual art stencil workshop ($)
– perfect for all ages 

Immersive Storytelling Experience with Rhonda Snow and the Ojibwe Spirit Horses.

Suitable for ages 4+
Limited accessibility – this programming takes place on natural ground. 

Join Spirit Horse advocate and knowledge keeper Rhonda Snow in bringing her painting of “Child in the Snowstorm” to life.  Work as a team with the Ojibwe Spirit ponies in this equine assisted learning experience. 

Programming will take pace outdoors in a covered area so dress for the weather. We recommend you wear boots as you will be on natural ground and it can get muddy.

This program is free but registration is required.
