Farmland and forestry, caring for animals and experiencing Indigenous culture: Madahoki Farm is offering a summer camp for little explorers to have a taste of all these and more.

The summer camp for children ages four to 12 will run from July 27 to 31 and again from Aug. 10 to 14.

“There will be a lot of land-based learning, so we’ll do a lot of games and activities,” said Trina Mather-Simard, Madahoki’s executive and artistic director. “Indigenous cultural ambassadors will do lots of dance and music and workshops with the kids, and of course, with our animals – all of the kids’ favourite component of the farm.”

Madahoki is located in the Greenbelt on Hunt Club Road West, between Moodie Drive and Highway 416.

During the weeklong summer camp, kids will have a chance to care for Ojibwe Spirit Horses, animals which are still listed as critically endangered and a rare sight to see.
