Who We Are

We are an Indigenous-led nonprofit organization who has built a strong reputation for creating authentic experiences that showcase culture, history, food, music, art, fashion, dance and even entrepreneurship that is reflective and respectful of Canada’s diverse Indigenous heritage. For over 25 years, our Indigenous-led organization (Indigenous Experiences) has been presenting Indigenous Peoples culture, history, food, and arts to mainstream audiences in the form of invited performers to numerous festivals, special events, national and international conferences, as well as in-school presenters for elementary students. Our home at Mādahòkì Farm continues to grow as a vibrant, year-round cultural destination, with visitor experiences now available both indoors and outdoors—including our newly refurbished Mamawii Lodge.

Upholstery Training Program

Madahoki Farm is proud to partner with The New Oak Tree to launch a new Upholstery Training Program for Indigenous participants.

This program offers hands-on training in a high-demand trade, while also providing business skills to help participants choose between working for others or starting their own upholstery business.

We have two calls to action:

  1. Indigenous applicants:
If you are interested in joining this 8-month program (3–4 days per week), please email us at wastediversion@thenewoaktree.com to learn more. While stipends are not currently available, we may be able to assist with transportation.

  2. Supporters of Madahoki Farm:
If you have an upholstery or refinishing project, email us at wastediversion@thenewoaktree.com to book. Ten percent of each job will directly support this training initiative, helping us build a long-term program beyond the pilot phase.

This is an opportunity to support waste diversion, invest in meaningful trade skills, and empower Indigenous learners to earn a living wage. Let’s build something lasting together.
